He dented my car...

Two things I'm learning as I follow Jesus:

  1. "Living on mission" is a lot moreordinarythan we think.

  2. Grace is a superpower that cracks open doors for the gospel.

Here's a story that illustrates both these things...

Not long ago, someone bumped our car in a parking lot.

The real rub? It's a brand new car.

After upgrading our nearly 20 year old Corolla, we had the new whip for just weeks before a young guy (let's call him "Nick") smacked my door while opening his.

*Sigh*

Nick and I swapped info and agreed to be in touch once I got a repair quote.

There was a time in my life when stuff like this would have bothered me a lot,but as I drove away, a thought kept ringing in my head:

"What if this is a kingdom opportunity?"

(Wait...is that you, Holy Spirit?)

The more we thought and prayed about it, the more we sensed this was an opportunity to extend grace and pointNickto Jesus.

Here's the text I sent him...👇🏼

As you might imagine,Nick was both relieved and deeply grateful.

After apologizing again for the mishap,he expressed wanting to get us a gift cardto make up for things.

So I told him this...👇🏼

The coolest part? Not only was Nick receptive to what I shared, he mentioned that––despite not being raised with any religious belief––he has been trying to learn more about Christian faith and wants to get closer to Jesus.

Isn't Jesus amazing?

Join me in asking the Lord to draw Nick to himself and let me leave you with a question to ponder with the Holy Spirit:

What if your next inconvenience is an opportunity to witness to the grace of Jesus?

Yours in the Kingdom,

Lucas
